Semaglutide, is the OG when it comes to the GLPs.

Initially used as an adjunct medication for Type II Diabetes, this glucagon-like peptide (GLP) agonist mimics hormones involved in appetite suppression by sending signals to the brain responsible for your food cravings, and slows down gastric emptying giving you the sensation of being full. Less hunger, means less eating, means lose weight.

Semaglutide is known as a GLP. ( Glucagon like peptide), which plays a role in controlling our appetite, and thus food intake. The end effect of this this slows down gastric motility, thus giving the sensation of feeling full, which also sends signals to a certain area in the brain involved in appetite suppression, taking away those urges to binge eat to satisfy those snack cravings we all sooner or later regret.

Semaglutides side effects are gastrointestinal related (Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhea) and will typically resolve in the first 1-2 weeks of treatment. A well-known step wise treatment regimen is used to help your body get used to the medication and lessen those side effects, as well as eventually getting the levels of this medication into your body, known as a steady state. This is the point where maximal effect is achieved for most people. We call this the maintenance dose. Serious side effects are extremely rare and can include kidney failure, or anaphylaxis if allergic to this medication.

Semaglutide is not an insulin and should not be used if you have Type 1 Diabetes. Semaglutide should not be used with any other GLP-1 medications. This medication will not be prescribed to you if you or any family members have a history of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type II, Medullary thyroid cancer or if you have personal history of pancreatitis.

**Not everyone will be medically qualified for treatment which will be determined upon initial consultation by our on-site physician. In some instances, bloodwork may be required to begin or continue treatment. If you have had any bloodwork in the last 3 months, please bring to your free consultation appointment for review as this may suffice. **

If you are deemed appropriate and medically cleared for treatment, you will receive your first injection on the same day. You will need to return once a week for each injection, as this allows our physician to monitor your progress and make any dosage changes if applicable at that time.

Weight loss results vary person to person, but typically clients will see a 2-5% weight loss in the first month, 3-8% in the second month, and 8-11% by the 3 rd month treatment.

We have different plans designed for different weight loss goals. Some clients want or need to lose less weight than others, while others may want or need to lose more weight which requires a little more time and financial investment.
