Tirzepatide is known as a dual action agonist because not only does it it mimic the GLP-1 peptides, it also mimics a class of peptides known as the GIPs (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptides). Because of its dual glucose-dependent manner of action, it has been proven to be slightly more effective and have less side effects compared to Semaglutide.

Tirzepatide’s unique dual action mechanism of action activates an increase in insulin production while lowering the secretion of glucagon. The end effect of this this slows down gastric motility, thus giving the sensation of feeling full, which also sends signals to a certain area in the brain involved in appetite suppression, taking away those urges to binge eat to satisfy those snack cravings we all sooner or later regret.

The majority of side effects are gastrointestinal related (Nausea, Vomiting, Constipation, Diarrhea) and will typically resolve in the first 1-2 weeks of treatment. Serious side effects are extremely rare and can include kidney failure, or anaphylaxis if allergic to this medication.

Tirzepatide is not an insulin and should not be used if you have Type 1 Diabetes. Tirzepatide should not be used with any other GLP-1 medications. This medication will not be prescribed to you if you or any family members have a history of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type II, Medullary thryroid cancer or if you have personal history of pancreatitis.

**Not everyone will be medically qualified for treatment which will be determined upon initial consultation by physician. In some instances, bloodwork may be required to begin or continue treatment. If you have had any bloodwork in the last 3 months, please bring to your free consultation appointment for review as this may suffice.**

If you are deemed appropriate and medically cleared for treatment, you will receive your first injection on the same day. You will need to return once a week for each injection, as this allows our physician to monitor your progress and make any dosage changes if applicable at that time. Weight loss results vary person to person, but typically clients will see a 5-8% weight loss in the first month, 7-12% in the second month and 11-17% by the 3 rd month. We have 2 different plans designed for different weight loss goals. Some clients want or need to lose less weight than others, while others may want or need to lose more weight which requires a little more time and cost investment.
